Have you ever heard jokes in English by a Japanese person in Tokyo?
If not, then you might want to check out my show called My Japanese Perspective. I have been organizing a standup comedy show for two years now, and on 30 September I did my 242nd show so far.
There were 7 people in the audience. They were from the UK, US, Canada and Singapore.
Before the show started, we met up 30 mins early for drinks. At the moment, Japan is hosting the Rugby World Cup. As you might expect, except for the Singaporeans, they all came to Japan to watch the rugby game! The British guys and Canadian woman talked about rugby all the time – while the Singaporean and American audience members asked them what the rules are.
Then I performed for 50 mins. I told jokes about Japan! The joke that I got the biggest laugh with is on ‘blood-type discrimination’. In Japan, blood type discrimination is a thing. So I joked about it for part of my set. If you want to see that joke, you can find it on my Youtube channel.
After my performance, we continued drinking and talking about rugby.
It was a fun night. If you are looking for night entertainment in Tokyo, please come to my comedy show!
